2006 - Juniper Golf Course, Redmond, Oregon. The course was built about 3 miles from the old Juniper. This new course is a first class course well worth a trip there. It was built around the lava mounds common in the Redmond area with water coming into play on some holes. Website: http://junipergolf.com/index.htm

March 2008 - BAYONET/BLACKHORSE UPDATE: Seaside, CA (Monterey Peninsula)
The front side of Bayonet reconstruction is now complete and open. The current open 18 holes are front and back of
Bayonet.
The back side of Blackhorse will be ready for play in May; at which time they will close the back side of Bayonet
for reconstruction. The 18 holes playable course will be front Bayonet and back Blackhorse.
The Front side of Blackhorse, now under reconstruction will be open in November or December 2008. At that time 27
holes will be open for play.
The back side of Bayonet will be completed around May 2009. At that time all 36 holes will be open for play.
The new grass will be Bent Grass, replacing poanna. Their maintenance program will be aggressive to prohibit the
poanna from returning.
The new tee boxes, fairways and greens are being built firm and should make them playable regardless of the weather.
Power carts are allowed almost anywhere on the new front of Bayonet. This should hold true as each new nine is
completed.
This reconstruction is not just reseeding. The fairways are completely dug up, some being redesigned with many
trees removed to open up the course.
The resort hotel (Fairmont) will begin construction in the Fall of 2008 and will be built where the driving range is
now.
Condos (about 30) will be built on course by Bayonet # 9 hole (between Bayonet and Blackhorse).
The course will be managed by Fairmont Resorts golf division.
The current green fees for non-resident seniors is $68.
Local military retirees are grandfathered by agreement with the city of Seaside. This agreement will be honored
for the foreseeable future.
SIDENOTE: The Monterey Pines golf course will be closed 1 April 2008, for about a year, for complete redesign; plan
unknown. The RV park is looking for a construction company to redesign the RV park, dates unknown, probably this
fall.
